I'm Okada, a director of Indy Associates Co., Ltd. We are a company that originally produces video. At the same time as producing promotional videos, I was also involved in the production of digital content such as the Web and mobile. From there, I was in the business of digital signage (electronic signage). As an extension of that, we started a robot development business, where we received a voice from Mr. Hosoya of Casa robotics and co-developed Millerun.

I'm Hosoya, CEO & CTO of Casa robotics Co., Ltd. Originally I worked in the IT industry and was developing information systems. I also worked in software engineering to study development methods. I have been in the IT industry for a long time, but two years ago I joined KISTAR REAL ESTATE and became involved in the so-called DX, where I used IT in the environment of a business company for the first time to launch new businesses and services. Then, in November 2020, Casa robotics Co., Ltd., which specializes in selling standard one-story houses called IKI, was established and was entrusted with it. In doing so, Mr. Makoto, the representative director of KISTAR REAL ESTATE, asked me to do it without being too caught up in the common sense of the industry, and while selling IKI, how to sell new homes and communication with customers. I came to think about the way it should be. At that time, I met Millerun, and I met Mr. Okada, and I have started a new initiative.

The first opportunity was around 2015, but while we were making various digital contents, we were making an interactive mechanism using communication for digital signage.

A derivative of this is the basic robot system.

The following year, 2016, I thought about using this system to properly shape it into a robot. In March, we will exhibit at the "Passenger Terminal EXPO", a global exhibition on aviation airports in Germany, and from the desire to make something interesting, we made a rush to complete the outside.

The first robot to be unveiled at the exhibition was the early robot, which has the roots of Millerun.

Actually, the first prototype was completed in the shortest possible time, and it didn't break for about two years. I still don't know why (laughs), so I didn't have any trouble at the beginning, but when I started to actually communicate with the customer and the robot, a small correction came out. I've been. For example, there was a problem that it was difficult to hear the customer's voice due to the operating sound of the robot, and the voice on the robot side was also small and difficult to hear. It's been a lot of improvements since the robots actually started working. I'm still updating.

When I first saw Millerun's friends introduced on TV, I felt that they were different from other robots. I agree. Due to the corona epidemic, customers were worried about face-to-face communication . Originally, Casa Robotics had an exhibition space that could be visited unattended, and experience points were accumulated. By combining this with a video customer service system, we were the first in the industry to respond to an "unmanned preview " that remotely explains housing to customers who came to visit even in Corona.

However, in that case, there was a weakness that it was not possible to walk around the house with the customer and guide them.

With Millerun, it is possible to move and talk with customers as a robot, so I intuitively thought that it would be possible to take the customer's tour experience through "unmanned viewing" to the next stage. IKI's exhibition hall is a one-story building, so there are no robots like stairs (laughs).

 

After the introduction, the number of applications for unmanned viewing has more than tripled. In addition, about 1 in 3 of the customers who applied for the one-story IKI is a person who has experienced the unmanned preview service. I feel that unmanned viewing and customer service of Millerun are accepted by the world.

The first Millern companion I met worked in a large facility called an airport terminal, so I think I wouldn't have passed through a narrow space.

The exhibition hall has the same floor plan as the house where the customer actually buys it, and of course it is not as open as the airport. Therefore, I asked for two improvements. First, make it easier to pass through doors and narrow spaces. The second is to have them broaden their horizons so that they can see the surroundings such as furniture. Yes, the robot department consists of humans and robots working together and interacting with customers who come to the exhibition hall . As Mr. Millern said, now, in the robot club, employees who are working shorter hours to raise children are also active. When working at a store, it is difficult to respond during reduced working hours because there are meetings that match the time when the customer returns home. However, even though I have a lot of experience in housing sales, it is really a waste to be able to utilize that skill to convey the goodness of one-story IKI to customers. That's why I decided to have Millerun take charge of remote customer service at exhibition halls in various places.

With Millern in the exhibition hall, he is now able to continue his favorite work while working in an office near his home. I think that it has social significance, such as being able to maintain a continuous career, return to work, and expand opportunities, even if it is a new way of working, raising children, or staying at home. Recently, it is said that customer satisfaction comes from employee satisfaction.

If happy employees talk about their happy life in a one-story building, I think it will be easier for customers to feel happy. I want employees and customers to have such an experience. That is also the goal of the robot department.

When I first come to see my house, I feel like I have to talk to someone who is a sales person. Depending on the person, I think it's a matter of budget and I'm worried about whether I can buy it. For Casa Robotics, I wanted to experience the one-story IKI to the fullest and to like this house, rather than having such concerns.

So, if you think that it suits the building you want and the lifestyle you want, I wanted to divide it into two stages so that you can start talking about the specifics of purchasing as the next step. At the stage of the first experience, it may be better not to have people there, so we prepared an unmanned exhibition hall and prepared a remote customer service mechanism such as Millerun.

 

What I found interesting was that when a couple or a partner look at a house, they have different requirements for the house, so there is a small dispute. It is inevitable when choosing a house, or rather a necessary process for choosing a house that is convincing for two people. Some customers said that it was very nice to have an atmosphere where they could do such things without hesitation at the IKI exhibition hall.
